Class 4 MOT Testing

Government-approved Class 4 MOT testing for cars and small vans, arranged for you through our trusted local testing partner while our on-site lane is temporarily out of action.

Class 4 MOT testing, arranged for you.

A Class 4 MOT is the annual safety check required by law for most cars and light vans in the UK. Our on-site MOT testing lane is temporarily out of action, so for now we arrange your Class 4 MOT through a trusted local testing partner rather than testing it ourselves at Fulbeck. We still handle the whole process for you - we'll take your vehicle for testing and bring it back once it's done, so there's nothing extra for you to organise. We expect to resume in-house testing later this year.

What we check during your MOT.

The DVSA-approved Class 4 inspection covers every legally required area of your vehicle, including:

  • Brakes, suspension and steering
  • Tyres, wheels and wheel bearings
  • Lights, indicators and reflectors
  • Seat belts, mirrors and windscreen
  • Exhaust, fuel system and emissions
  • Bodywork, chassis and structural integrity
  • Bonnet, doors and load areas

What if my vehicle fails?

If your vehicle fails its MOT, we’ll walk you through exactly what’s wrong, why it’s a failure, and what it would cost to put right. Most repairs can be carried out at our Fulbeck workshop, and we’ll arrange the retest through our testing partner once the work is complete. We never carry out additional work without your explicit approval.

Booking your MOT.

To book your MOT, simply get in touch or call Dale directly on 07983 395321. We serve customers across Fulbeck, Grantham, Sleaford, Newark, Ancaster, Leadenham, Navenby, Caythorpe and Waddington - and we’re always happy to fit you in.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you test MOTs on-site at the moment?
Not currently. While our on-site MOT testing lane is temporarily out of action, we arrange your Class 4 MOT through a trusted local testing partner. We take care of everything - we'll take your vehicle for testing and bring it back to you, so the process stays just as simple. We expect to resume in-house MOT testing later this year.
How long does an MOT take?
The test itself takes around 45 to 60 minutes, but please allow extra time in total as we need to take your vehicle to our testing partner and bring it back. We'll agree a realistic collection time with you when you book.
When can I get my MOT done?
You can have your MOT carried out up to one calendar month (minus a day) before your expiry date and keep the same renewal date.
What happens if my car fails?
We’ll explain exactly what’s failed and why, give you a clear written quote for the repairs, and only proceed with your approval. Most repairs can be carried out at our Fulbeck workshop, with the retest arranged through our testing partner once the work is done.
Do you do Class 7 MOTs?
We arrange Class 4 testing, covering most cars and small vans up to 3,000kg. If your vehicle requires a Class 7 test we can recommend a trusted local tester.
Can you collect my car for its MOT?
Yes - collection is included as part of arranging your MOT through our testing partner. If you're within 5 miles of Fulbeck this forms part of our free collection service; further afield we can usually still arrange it for a small fuel charge.
